But with the unexpected arrival of a spirited penguin named Captain Cook, a new horizon opens before them. Join this offbeat family on an unforgettable musical adventure based on the 1938 classic by Richard and Florence Atwater. Saturday, December 14th @ 12pm is our Sensory Friendly performanceApproximate run time: 75 minutes Birmingham Children’s Theatre is proud to offer sensory-friendly performances for children and adults with autism spectrum disorder, sensory sensitivities or other special needs. These performances are designed to provide an arts experience that is engaging, enjoyable, and accessible for all of our audiences. Accommodations for these performances include:• Lower sound level, especially for startling or loud sounds;• Lights remain on at a low level in the theater during the performance;• A reduction of strobe lighting or lighting focused on the audience;• Patrons are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance;• Designated quiet areas within the theater;• Space throughout the theater for standing and movement;• Families will also have access to resource materials to prepare for their visit. The box office is located inside the BJCC Theatre's main lobby.
