Jerry Presley!  Lt. Presley and his fellow firefighters responded Sunday, Jan. 27, to a fully-involved blaze at a house on Woodrow Drive. While battling the blaze, the 18 year  veteran of Tarrant Fire fell off a ladder, dropping at least 12 feet to the ground below. Lt. Presley was critically injured, and fundraising efforts continue to help him and his family during what will be a long road to recovery. On Saturday, November 23rd, 30 fire departments, restaurants, and private teams will bring the heat while competing for the winner of the best chili recipe in central Alabama. The Chili Cook-Off is a family-friendly event featuring chili, bbq, live music, antique cars, beverages, and more! The 2019 Chili Cook-Off will take place on Ford Avenue in the historic business district in Tarrant, Alabama. Chili and BBQ teams can register via A $5 donation on the day of the event will allow spectators to sample unlimited chili and bbq samples.   FAQs  Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? No, However all children under the age of 16 must be accomapnied by an adult. There are no children's activities at this event.  What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Public parking lots are available at the old Food Giant grocery store, Bama Hot Dogs parking lot, Tarrant Post Office, and street parking. All parking lots are free of charge.  How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Tarrant Moving Forward along with the Tarrant Fire Department are the event organizers.
